FAQ about School Tuition and Costs

What is the tuition at SBHS?

Currently, tuition for 2011-2012 is $7,225 ($656/month for 11 months).

Will tuition increase for 2012-2013?

Tuition will likely increase 2-4%

Is financial aid available?

Financial aid is available on a limited basis. Application forms will be available December 15th. Financial aid is awarded based on an applicant’s ability to meet St. Bonaventure’s requirements for admission and retention and the applicant’s demonstrated financial need. Financial aid grants are made for one year and may be renewed through the application process. Not all families will qualify for financial aid; in some cases we cannot supply enough financial aid to meet a family’s needs.

How is tuition payments handled?

St. Bonaventure uses a tuition management company to handle all tuition payments. Ordinarily payments are made on an eleven month schedule starting in July.

What other fees or costs can we expect to pay?

There is an application fee of $50.00 due prior to the test date

Books can run $200-$300 per year for used books; up to $600 for all new books. ESCO (our on-line book supplier) does rent books. Students must have their own copies of books in order to attend school.

Registration fee for 2012-2013 is $400 due at the time of registration in March (this fee is non-refundable)

There is a $75.00 yearbook fee (purchasing the yearbook is optional)

Each sports team has a “Spirit Pack Fee” ranging from $50.00 to $500.00

Uniform polo shirts run around $20 each and sweatshirts approximately $35 each. Pants/slacks and shorts may be purchased through Dennis Uniform Co. or one of the local chain stores. Polo’s and sweatshirts may also be purchased through Proforma (or Booster Club supplier).

Students/ parents are required to sell $80.00 worth of Fiesta raffle tickets each spring.

 

 

St. Bonaventure High School is owned by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The School is named in honor of the Patron of the San Buenaventura Mission and the City of Ventura. Currently over 600 students from all areas of Ventura County attend St. Bonaventure High School. Working in cooperation with parents, the administration, the faculty and staff are committed to drawing out the best in students. Mirrored also in the task are the words of James Francis Cardinal McIntyre at the dedication of St. Bonaventure High School on January 21, 1968:

"There is no perfection in academic achievements possible without recognizing the existence of God."
